Etodolac is a member of the non-steroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAIDs) family.Etodolac is a white crystalline compound, insoluble in water, but soluble in alcohols, chloroform, dimethyl sulfoxide, and aqueous polyethylene glycol.Etodolac is used for the treatment of inflammation and pain caused by osteoarthritis and rheumatoid arthritis as well as soft tissue injuries, such as tendinitis and bursitis. It is also used for rapid relief of mild to moderate pain, such as with menstrual cramps. Etodolac reduces inflammation and pain by blocking production and release of chemicals that produce it.
